Hello all,
I hope I am finding everyone in great holiday spirits and everyone is getting excited for the Holiday Classic.
NEXT SEASON
The new board is working on finalizing a schedule and will be able to post it later next week. We will run Saturday night races again.
POINTS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! The new board has secured Championship sponsor money for 3 classes. Here is how it will work.
Classes: Opens KT 100 Outlaw Box Stock
Prizes: All three classes will run for a championship trophy, Championship Jacket and a combined $800.00 purse. $500.00 to the champion, $200.00 to 2nd. $100.00 to 3rd. There will be 2 throw away races in each class.
NOTE: If there are more classes that participate in a large group we are looking to add another class or two to this format. Michael Most Trucking and possibly the club will sponsor another class if the participation is there. We already have the flat track bikes committed to racing with us all season and we are working on some other great events. Please let us know what you think and any ideas you may have.
Thanks Mike Most

Mike..you asked for responses so here's a couple to your last post...1) Have you asked the club / association if they prefer night racing ? I personally never was asked. Doesn't night racing also take a considerable chunk out of the gate fees due to the lighting costs ? I know it does as I donated 1/2 of the costs this season for a race. Before you lock in the season shouldn't the people speak ? 2) As I've been informed by other tracks/ promoters if children under 18 are paid ( hence the Box Stock Class) that can hurt their ability to get a college scholarship in the future. .please correct me if I'm wrong. 1st Answer: No it will not hurt it will bring in more racers racing at night. And from my experience of being the president in the past, people want to race at night and some have to work on Saturday days and can't get to the track in time to race day races Also we have the flat track bikes racing with us on numerous nights so we will start a little early to incorporate there races. The motorcycles will help off set the cost of the lights. As for locking in the season I am not sure what you are talking about. The club elects a board and we make decisions on how to run the track. We don't ask for input on schedules and things of that nature. 2nd answer: As long as you are paying the race team or the parent you are just fine. No money goes to any kids. It goes to the parents to off set there costs of racing. This way no one gets labeled a pro or hurts any scholarship potential.
Thanks for your response and I hope my answers helped.

Hello all,
The new board has approved the 2015 schedule and practice nights. All races and practices will be at night unless posted. With Ken Queen and Jim Mineo resigning after the season we the board have voted and agreed 100% and will add Aaron Miller and Pete Gresh Sr. to the board as of January 1st. I would like to thank Pete and Aaron for stepping up to help us next season. They both have a wealth of knowledge and will be a huge asset to the club. We will have 1 practice night every month. We will post an RSVP for practice night on Tuesdays. We will need 10 people to RSVP that they are coming to practice, by Thursday at 1800. If we do not get 10 people we will not open the track and turn on the lights. Listed below is the schedule for the 2015 season. Remember there will be two throw away races during the season. We will get the schedule put in the proper place on the website as soon as possible. Help for next season
Currently we have: Corners will be worked by 2 members of each class for each heat race and main. Unless we get regular corner workers..... Pre-Tech (Dickey Dude-Michael Most) Scoring (Carolynn High and help) Registration (Denise Vitek) Snack Shack (Mrs. Miller) Track Prep Eric Vanderford during the week and Brian Liebig on race days.
Medic for each race (Anthony Devilla) Grid and gate worker (Jim Mineo)
Needs Flagman: Race Director: Post Tech: (4cycle and 2 Cycle) Scale Master:
If anyone would like to volunteer for anything we would appreciate it. Please let us know. We are trying to get all of this covered before we start the season. If not we will need to assign people from crew members and race teams to help during the races at different places each week. And to all the people who have already stepped up to help next season thank you very much!!!!!!!
Thanks Mike Most

What are expected race day times ? Gates open at ? Drivers meeting ? Race starts ? Great news of the bikes joining in so often as Jonathon will be continuing to join them also. Are the bikes going to continue to follow the kart races? Thanks Jonathon and Gary

I have received no messages or phone calls regarding help at the track. We still need a race director, scale master, corner workers, and a flagman. I sure hope some people volunteer to help out. Please remember this is a club and we need volunteers to keep it running. You don't even have to do it every race we could have some people do it every other race and stuff like that. Also I would like a response from the people racing the three championship classes that have a payout. I am wondering what you think and how many of you are going to participate in it. Remember all the adult classes will have $5.00 of there entry going towards a Championship fund to be paid out at the end of the season. The classes with a money championship also add $5.00 per race towards that championship. So that being said the 1st-3rd will have the payout that I posted. But there is more money added to it during the year. Example: In the Money Championships: 10 karts on average in a class adds $50.00 a race towards the Championship fund. Times that by 17 races = an additional $850.00 paying out 1st-5th. Not including Championship Trophy and Jacket. I think we are starting next season on a big positive. Let me know what you think.
Thanks Mike Most

Mike ..I'll give you a response probably won't be liked and I don't mean any disrespect...Jonathon and I were at every race last year and never saw 10 karts in any class all year long. I don't see you numbers being realistic...hey karters call me out prove me wrong this year I can take it ! Maybe your cash and night racing will do it ..good luck ! Jonathon and I race for the excitement , bonding of family and friends not for money. I also believe the track needs people in the positions of race director and flagger that are NOT affiliated with any racers. Another way of saying it is I thought Bobby was perfect for us. Again no disrespect intended. Gary

Bobby is OK as a racer my problem with him is concistancy and I still have to this day see any form of racing go green/live going into turn 3.
As a facility he dose not listen very well he shackes his head and says ok, then he walks away and dose what he wants to do.
And then I feel embareses us all when he stands up at the drivers meeting and asks for donations and tips.

I'd like to clarify Bobby receiving of tips / payments last season..I take full responsibility for the idea of the tip /thank you jar.As the club was not in the position to pay him the rates he wished during the hard months of March and April due to county rents due,I thought racers would help to balance his losses. Unfortunately it was somewhat taken negatively and still is evidently by some. So please don't hold Bobby responsible as it was my idea and yes you could tell he was uncomfortable asking but tried to keep working with A.K.A. I apologize to Bobby and A.K.A. members it simply didn't work out well. Bobby and his crew are STILL the darn best flagger and corner I've seen at A.K.A.!I hope they return ! Jonathon and Gary

There is no reason to discuss people like flaggers and others. If you know someone who wishes to volunteer, that is great. I do not want negativity attached to this post. Also as for not having 10 karts in anyone class last season that was an example. And that was also last season. We are looking towards the future not the past. If you have a great facility great people working and put together a good program the karts will come.
Thanks Mike Most.

I can and will post my opinions. That is one of the things that a discussion page is all about. Naturally negatively posted is not preferred but people have the right to be heard. I would like to think "the board " wants to know what is making karters happy or unhappy. Gary

If you say so. I am not going to get into an argument about it. I was just saying that we need to look into the future and you saying that I am far fetched about 10 karts in a class isn't going to happen has yet to be seen. Also that negativity and nasty comments regarding next year or ripping someone should not be thrown around for no reason. And by the way you probably wouldn't have posted that is you read that the 10 karts was an example. I do believe we will have a lot of karts back in action in 2015.
Thanks Mike Most
