This is a reminder that this weekend is the last day I will be taking nominations and new rule ideas, modifications or other suggestions that need to go to vote. Please let us know so we can get the ballots ready. Denise

Not being too familiar with your process, how do the club members get the information to know #1 who is running for the board, #2 who is still on the board and #3 who is running for re-election. From all of the info I have only Ken Queen is still on your board. All others will need to be either elected or re-elected. How do new club members like myself get these election ballots that are made up.

Some of your information is incorrect. There are three board members still remaining on the board. Ken, Jim and myself. The membership will be voting for four board members. Tomorrow is the last day to nominate someone for the board, propse rules changes or suggest new rules. I will create a post indicating who has been nominated once I have everything put together. I will print copies of the ballot for those that can't make the meeting (November 12th). I will also email it directly if requested. Last year we allowed mail in ballots, these would have to reach me by the 8th. These can be handed directly as long as they are sealed.
More details will be posted later. Denise

Denise, based on the club bylaws of these 4 positions to be elected I am guessing that 2 positions will be one year terms and 2 positions will be two year terms. So is that decided before the elections begin or are the one and two year terms awarded after the election? Also it appears that Ken Queens position will be vacant at the end of this year. Will his position be part of the election or will his position be filled by appointment. Thank you

All positions are 2 year positions. The idea was to elect half the board each year so that there would be an overlap of "old" and "new".

Carolyn I am aware of that but, both Denise and Jim should have only one year left. So if you have 5 board members elected all with 2 years term. Then your not staggered anymore. Remember Ken said he will be leaving in January. Thats why I am asking.

Yes, I know it has not worked in the way it was intended, but non the less it is still stated in the bylaws that all positions are 2 year.

Just to clarify, Ken's, Jim's nor my position is up for vote. These spots if/when they are vacated will be filled with remaining board members. This will allow for half the board members to remain and the other to change. Next year these three positions will be up for vote.
As Carolyn stated each board member is elected for two years, anyone leaving the board before their term is up will be replaced by a member apointed by the current board. It is my opinion those appointed should complete the replaced members term, but I don't know if that is allowable. Something for the new board to consider.
Please - everyone is entitled to their opinions good or bad, get all sides of the story before posting. A look to the future and I foresee AKA being a happening place.
See you all on Saturday. Denise

Without a doubt. It will be a very happening place. Outlaw cage karts Opens clones kt100 Jr1s motorcycles. It will be great Saturday night racing. And Denise you are correct the members that decide to resign afrer this year get replaced by the new board and serve out the remaining term. That is what the rules have always been.
Thanks Mike Most
