Just reminding everyone that we are racing this Sat. Drivers meeting at 6pm, racing at 7pm. Several of you asked for this, so let's get out there and support AKA Speedway. Some adjustments to the lighting and we saved some money on electricity. Kevin and Joe are working on this some more. We still need more entrants to cover our expenses. The only way to do this is for you to support by racing, buying pit passes, offer to help at the races. We are looking for someone to help with the snack bar this weekend, too. I hope to see many more of you out at the track this Saturday. I would also like to welcome Scott Batten to the AKA Board, replacing Randy Sterling. Thank you Randy for your service to our club.

Randy, you were not asked to leave.
You were asked what your intentions were as you had not been racing, missed board meetings and the only time recently you had been at the track to help, was at Brian's request. You had every right to say to me, YES, I intend to stay on the board, but you did not. Nor did you attend the last board meeting to address the board as to why the board asked you to leave (which is not true).
Regardless of whether or not there was someone wanting to join the board, that was your spot. You did an excellent job of keeping minutes when you attended meetings. There is a protocol when a board member or member is asked to leave. The first of those would be a letter. If the board was removing you from the board you would have received a letter, you did not. What took place was a phone call asking you what you wanted, you were told someone was wanting to join the board, since you had not been actively participating in board related event.
I do apologize for this post, but I wanted to respond to your public claim on this thread (and others)as I am the one who spoke to you on the phone at the request of the board.
Thank you, Denise

WOW, I say too! You just basically called Denise a liar, Randy. I know of 3 board meetings you missed, as I was asked to take minutes in January. When you said you were taking the first part of the season off, I and others assumed you meant from racing only. I was at the meeting when it was discussed to call to see what your intentions were. At no time, did the board discuss removing you at that time, just wanted to see what your plans were. I don't think that was unreasonable, since you had missed at least 3 meetings, and had not been to the track to help out (except when Brian was prepping the track for the motorcycle tire testing, not AKA racing. And he was being paid to do so.) When others don't race, they volunteer. Denise doesn't race, Kevin doesn't race, Oscar volunteered to work the corner when he wasn't racing and brings the scales, Dave has acted as race director and grid steward, Jim always works the gate when he is at the track, Ken worked at the Holiday Classic. Other people who are not on the board work almost every race, and other board members participate in committees to plan the Classic, and add new classes to club. If you have done something positive for the club off track, please let us know. I will ask, why did you want to be on the Board in the first place? And, if you wanted to continue. had you come to the meeting and talked to the board members about your intentions, you would not have been asked to leave the position. I was at that meeting and your saying their minds were made up, was not true.
Now, before some of you haters ask why I am even saying anything, I will tell you......I get real upset when someone, especially one who has worked their ass off for this club, is attacked either outright or in a subtle way, and accused of lying. And, if all this energy used in negativity and causing trouble were used in a positive manner for AKA, think of what we could do.
