Search U Tube for Liberty Raceway Park to see the safer barrier they built from plastic 55 gallon drums. The tops and bottoms are removed and set in a trench. The drum absorbs the impact instead of the fence. Very doable. Comments please. Thanks.

Perry I know u haven't been out to the track in a while but we have purchased state of the art safety barriers for turn two and turn four. They have worked great. Let me know if you have any questions. Or come out and see at the king of the hill race.
Thanks Mike Most

Thanks Mike for the reply. I have seen the barriers that are in place at the race track. The barrel system would provide additional safety along with the current barriers. Thanks, Perry.

Last year I posted a link showing plastic barrel cut in 1/2 long ways and the halfs barrels completly around a track. this would be ideal for the front cement wall, could possibly save a life or prevent serious injury for little or no cost, I would even be willing to lead some guys or gal in cutting and installing them. will find the link and post it later. ps the state of the art barrierers have worked excellant but are costly. we can make 10 barrierers for the cost of one that we have around the 2 turns.

I am no longer a member but was last season and can first hand say the state of the art barriers are the way to go. I hit them very hard and had zero damage to the kart and very minimal damage to my body. Hard to say what the outcome would have been hitting a make shift barrier that hard. One last thanks to the donors

you are corec,t state of the art barriers are the way to go,but if the club can not get more donated or can not afford them the Plastic barrels offer an inexpensive alternative especially on the front cement wall.
