OK I remember a couple of years ago it was mandated that all inside drive clutches had to have a guard in between it and driver. I was asked to show it in the rule book. Could any one help me. I think it was a nka rule but can not find it in rule book.

I certainly like and endorse safety as all drivers safety is a top concern...but how is the club following up on karts that show up to race that may not be aware prior and or refuse to comply? It is my understanding Outlaw karts have been racing not safety wired at required brakes and steering locations. You can bet I'll have a clutch guard installed by the next race and our kart is already safety wired because I respect others children and the rules of the club !

Normally for club racing pretech normally gives you a couple of races to comply. Now a big race like the classic you find a drill and some safty wire because if you dont pass pretech you kart will not the touch the racing surface. And all safety gear is also checked. Belts, helmets, chest protectors, jacket, driver suits, so on. And just a reminder all cage karts/querter midgets/, champ karts require a sfi rated suite, not a jacket and jeans.

Yes we need and will follow a rule book. All karts will be safety wired and have clutch guards going forward into next year. I myself or Dickey will do pre tech so rest a sure that it will be done every race. If you are not in compliance you will have until the next race to do so. But please show me where it states you have to have a safety suit. Jeans high top sneakers and a jacket have always been the rule. If you want a safety race suit that is up to you. Bernie I hope you are feeling better. Give me a call if you need anything.
Thanks Mike Most

Our kart is safety wired...clutch guarded and has passed all inspection thru out the season ! I only expect to be racing against others that respect the rules and even more the safety of other people's children. All racers have had more than stated 2 races to comply..whoever's doing prerace tech needs to be backed up by the club not allowing the safety of others to be compromised. As I've spoken to former racers at A.K.A. these are some of the reasons they won't return. I believe anytime a driver is strapped in a vehicle you must wear an sfi rated suit.
