The board has decided that due to the amount of standing water, work that would need to be done to the track and time available, it has been decided to Cancel the race on 9-13-2014. Discussion is underway regarding a makeup day of this race. It will either be next Saturday September 20th or on a make up day (November 1st).

Talking to someone who has seen the track up close this is the thing to do. I am good with racing next saturday but thats two weeks in a row. The makeup date needs to be decided at the meeting.

For those of you that want to go to the track to help get it in shape for racing, either next weekend or the following here are some things that need to be done outside of getting water pumped out: removal of tree limbs, other brush gathering up the trash cans that were moved by water picking up the scattered pieces of tarps cutting down weeds that have overgrown the infield removal of dirt, gravel, etc. that has covered the grid area
I am sure there will be other things obvious once you get there. It is not just a matter of track preparation, so these are things anyone who has a rake, shovel, broom can do. All are welcome. (as soon as the gates are opened by the county).
By the way, Kevin asked that I tell you all you will need to replace your tarps, as they are no longer there.

I have a 25 HP clone 390 cc I would be happy to let the club use to pump out the water. That'll get the pump going. I am actually glad to see the cancellation notice this early. The last race that got cancelled due to rain was called way too late. If someone has a Trash pump minus a motor I could see if its possible to hook the 390 motor to the pump.

I had one other question . Now the race has been cancelled I hope we are going to wait and let all of mother natures rain to soak into the track. Wouldn't that be the correct plan of action ?

FYI We will be racing this weekend Sept 20th as a makeup for the rained out race. This is a day race, gates will open at 8:30.
Also, those of you who have had time to go out to the track and help out, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! Let me know who you are so we can make note of everyone who is stepping up to help.
Please don't forget, there is still more that needs to be done, please contact Kevin or another board member if interested.
Thank you, Denise
