The entry fee for this race is 100.00, right? And there are no other classes running? A non AKA points race? Just clarifying, in case others are wondering

other question- Since our Clone class usually runs Unilli as a spec tire, competitors will have to get Maxxis tires, are they offering any deals on tires? 75 + laps seems like a lot on an engine, (but what do I know about engines ) And are your normal fuel tanks big enough to run this number, plus cautions?

Oscar, I don't think anyone on the board knew anything other than the date of the "Dayclona" correct me if I am wrong, guys. That's why I am asking a few questions.

Sounds like a great idea, my question is who is putting up the 2000.00 and why are we finding out about this on the internet? especially when we had a board meeting 2 nights ago.

No doubt you heard from Brian. But other board members that I have spoken to today, did not know anything other than the Dayclona is being held on March 1st. My concern as a member only is will we have enough karts show for this to run as a stand alone race? We had 11 entries in the $1200 to win ProClone at the Holiday Classic. It costs several hundred to put on a race, when you count track prep, safety personnel, water, etc. I am all for a race that allows karters to win money. If the club is going to at least cover it's expenses with entry fees and pit passes, then having a money race is great. Does anyone else think that paying the winner only with none to any other positions discourages entrants? I hope at least the Clones we have running regularly are willing to buy Maxxis tires and race this. Can we hear from the drivers? And, will this have any effect on the Unilli sponsorship of the Clone class?

if I am understanding this ,,,, If I would like to have a special event,, all I need to do is post the event on this web site,, and it will be done,,, I do not need to have it approved by the board,, or even let them know about it,, interesting;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Well all I have say is I have talked about it from before we made the sedual that is why the dayclona is march 1 NASCAR week end the Sponsor thought it would be a great chance to bring in out of town racers. Just like in the past the quarter midgets normally have a big race and it brings in a lot of the NASCAR kids the the Burtons for example. The first day clona was a stand Alone race and it allows people that race other classes to strap on a clone. The tires were dictatated by the sponsor and there are a lot of used sets around from the classic.the first day clona whent over 125 with causions so yes they can make it that long. Most of the big races back east Are 50-100 laps.this is a great chance to bring money into the track if chigh would like to change it then you will never know what could happen. But like normal it is already getting bad press from club members why not get together and build the club and special events to help the club. This event has been talked about since October you can even ask your son I have talked about it for awhile but was waiting to get through the classic. Try not to post negative thing in the chat page right?

Allrighty then. First thing,my comments were not negative. I was simply asking questions. Some people are hesitAnt to do that because of the backlash. I am all for events that will bring people to the track and increase revenue. I love special races! Yes the first Dayclona was a stand alone race. There were activities for the kids too. At that time you had 15-20 Clones running every race. Now you have 5-6. Clone engines aren't cheap anymore. I have asked my questions, some were answered. I encourage the board to go forth with this and see what happens. It could be a great opportunity for someone to win some money

Now the sponsor has given 2000.00 maybe we get a couple more for 2nd and 3rd and foe clarification there were only 9 active clones before the first dayclona there were 13 non clone drivers in it. But I'm game for anything just the comments over the last three years was it was not a stand alone race.now for the kids I say sure run them. As for motors ask Nathan its all set up and tires.
