What can anyone share as far as the plans for the Classic this year? Ive been asked if I heard about it being cancelled? I was pretty sure that was not good info, but I do know that there has been some drama amongst some of the players and heard threats of it not having the UAS races. I would like to hear what is actually going on from the group that has the real info.

Tim, I can assure you that the Holiday Classic will be held this year. We are in planning right now. We will have UAS classes for sure. I cannot tell you if they will be 1/4 points races,(that decision is up to Joe Torres) but we are working on getting sponsorship for $ payouts. I can't imagine a Holiday Classic without the Chase Family, the Mayo Family, and others of our UAS friends. I am sure we will run most of the classes that were held in previous years, as well as our fast growing junior Outlaw classes. SO, please help squelch the rumor of it being cancelled. And, I hope if Joe decides not to hold points races then, you all will still come and compete and have fun!

I told the one that asked me I was sure it was a bad rumor. I will make sure to reaffirm that again. I don't know whats going on with Joe and the Club, but hopefully it gets worked out. Al, I just saw your response and I think its too late to call tonight. I will try tomorrow when I get home in the afternoon.

The Holiday Classic is already in the works. The UAS class will be involved with Money payouts and crystal. It will be posted up here very soon. We are working on sponsorship and classes as I am writing this. THERE WILL BE AND ALWAYS BE A HOLIDAY CLASSIC!!!!

There is a lot of interest from the clones in Tucson about this race. Will the track be prepped similar to last rears race? Or will it be more of an open outlaw prep?

That sounds great. You guys have always gave us a great track to race on for sure. I'm working on the NW guys and Gals and hope to see a big group of them this year. I'm going to be working on my stuff as I know we have a target on us. Not to burst any bubbles, but we had a blown head gasket on my hotrod from the 2nd heat of day 1 UAS on last year......Couldn't locate a big bore replacement gasket locally so we nursed it to 2 victories =0) The best way not to need something is to have a spare. I plan on bringing a spare this year.
