Hello! You all know me, I just have to put in my 2 cents. #1 We did have 10 karts in the KT100 class a few times (especially when money was paid out). #2 I have talked to Bobby about the discussion re where restarts occur. Brian, I have been to professional races where restarts are on middle of front straight, middle of back straight, (WOO, ASCS) going into turn 3, going into turn 4, drivers deal with it.. Bobby agrees, because most of AKA wants it at the cone turn 4, that both starts and restarts will be there when he is flagging for us. I sure hope everyone pulls together and makes 2015 at AKA a good year. I hear so many positive comments from the out of state racers who come to the classic. They talk about our great track, great facility, great staff. Many of them go to lots of different tracks all over the Western U.S., so they can compare. It would be nice if we could have that positivity from our local karters too. Just saying.......

Perhaps the idea is being interpreted the wrong way, call me out if I'm wrong but I' m not seeing anywhere in Mike's posts where the class has to have 10 karts to be eligible just that $5 of each drivers entry will be added to the championship prize pool. But back on track Mike as far as rules are being enforced for this upcoming season what rule book will we be following? I'm aware AKA has been predominately IFK sanctioned but based off the explanations I was given during the classic (Which was advertised under IKF) as far as rulings enforced was off of based assumption "that's how it has always been done around here". I just want to make sure I know what we are following just so no misconceptions can be made this season.

Where did you see that the Holiday Classic was advertised as running under IKF rules? It is an AKA event, using the AKA rule book first.. Yes our rules do say that if a situation is not covered by AKA rules, we revert to IKF. But even if you look at the IKF rule book, you will see statements that conflict with another rules somewhere. Even the IKF book says look at the intent of the rule, not the letter of the rule. I know that the officials of the Holiday Classic followed the rules as they understand them. Not sure which situations you are talking about, (I can guess), I know that the race officials did their best to make things fair for everyone. Chris has in the past DQ'd friends of his, if the situation warranted, if you are talking favoritism. Most of our drivers take the calls against them, and go on. Do you really want to nit pick every little thing?- if so, there are people out there who do not wear racing shoes, or high top shoes, numbers are the wrong color and in the wrong place, people who curse at officials. DQ them too?? Nit picking rules can sometime come back to bite you. I sure hope Mike can find an officiating crew that does everything right and keeps everybody happy.

Carolyn, I wasn't aware you were speaking in Mikes behalf but none the less thank you for response anyways. As far as nitpicking the rules that was the quote, unquote reasoning behind some of the calls in question. But this is not what my question was about. The classic is over, and I for one am ready to put it behind me so there is no need to start a flame war over the matter, I just wanted clarification on what Mike has expectations to honor rule wise.

I was not speaking for Mike. I was addressing the fact that the Holiday Classic ran by AKA rules, as does every AKA event. Mike, or any president, or board, should not be changing rules, or deciding which to run by. I do hope there are officials put in place that will follow those rules, using common sense for fair competition for everyone.

Wow are we getting way off track. 1st the 10/kart thing was an example. Thanks for pointing that out Paul. The other answer you were looking for was and as we have always run. We rule run by IKF rules. With our rules combined. Let's all relax and get the season going. We will be consistent all season and make sure everyone understands the rules. From the start. It will be a great season. Consistency fair play and tech will take care of all the issues.
Thanks Mike Most.

Mike,
I need to renew both mine and Caydens membership. Do I do that through you or at the1st race this month. We don't want to loose the 05 number. Cayden will be running in the Cage Kart Class.
Thanks, Ken Queen

Let me answer both Ken and Nathan in my response and I do apologize if you have been waiting long.
Ken just be there early and you will have no issues and we will do the same a always. Denise is working on getting the registration form on the website for everyone who wants it early. If you purchase your number you will be guaranteed your number all season for the $5.00. We will also sell reserved pit spots for the season for $25.00 and it will be your spot for the season. NOT FOR THE HOLIDAY CLASSIC!!!!
Nathan: I did forget about it and I will look to see what we can do about that.
Hope that answers your questions.
Thanks Mike Most
