Just wanted to let you know we are getting lots of positive comments about AKA and the Holiday Classic, mainly from out of state karters who race at lots of different tracks. Renee Angel posted this today- "For those of you "thinking" about going to the Holiday Classic.....this is how much racing room there is there!!" with a picture of the start of 2013 KT 100 main event. She got several good responses. And, she has already sent her entries in, and is encouraging all her racing friends to do so.
I want to challenge all AKA members to help make this the best Holiday Classic! This is the 20th Annual. If you are asking what you might do to help, here are some suggestions: 1. Help find sponsors for trophies or money payouts- many of you know someone in businesses who might be willing to put up a few bucks for a purse. Or sponsor a class of awards for $300. 2. Gather donations for a raffle. This can be anything, not just racing related. Last year we had some baskets with candles, massages, lotions, etc. for the ladies, collectible race cars, T-shirts, passes to indoor karting
Sometimes all it takes is to ask a business for a donation of either money, or products. Products or gift certificates are often good advertisement for that business. Things like this take time, and this year some of the people who helped with this have had personal, family, or health issues and are unable to do so. If a few of you members would be willing to take the time to help in this area, it would be great!

Woo Hoo! I got some response already. Thanks to our friend Gary (better known as Jonathon's grandpa) ! Industrial Machinery Service will sponsor trophies for a class. AND, Jonathan Bennett Race Team is donating a 29 inch TV for the raffle. This is what I am talking about, folks. Any others willing to get out there and help??
